John Snow, Inc. (JSI) seeks highly qualified and accomplished public health leaders and providers for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded Strengthening Egypt’s Family Planning Program (SEFPP). The USAID-funded Strengthening Egypt’s Family Planning Program (SEFPP) is a seven-year (2017–2024) project managed by John Snow, Inc. (JSI). SEFPP embodies USAID’s commitment to helping the Government of Egypt strengthen its family planning and reproductive health services. SEFPP supports the Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP) and National Population Council (NPC) to address Egypt’s growing population by increasing the use of family planning methods and promoting healthy timing and spacing of pregnancies, leading to a positive change in contraceptive use over time.
Internship Description
Purpose of the SOW
The intern will provide his/her support to the Finance Department including mainly review and verification of all documentation relating to each financial transaction to ensure completeness, accuracy, reasonableness, and compliance of all the supporting documents - timely payment due to staff, vendors and all other partners. He/ She contributes actively in the project financial data and reports. He/ She will work under the supervision of the Senior Accountant.
Internship Benefits
- Assists the Finance team with the day-to-day accounting including maintaining the JSI field accounts system, examining receipts and vouchers, and reconciling advances.
- Contributes to ensure timely monthly financial reports to the Finance Manager.
- Collects all information and data necessary to assists Finance Manager in preparing monthly cash flow requests and supporting schedules.
- Assist the Field team in handling workshops finance issues at the Field governorate manager level.
- Reviews the supporting documents for all authorized petty cash payments, invoices, and other supporting documents to ensure the accuracy and completeness and compliance of the documents.
- Ensures all office space, utilities, and other routine payments are paid in time as per lease agreements and the payment schedule is constantly updated.
- Tracks and monitor staff advance.
- Ensures a good and efficient filing of the finance department.
- Any other tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.
Internship Requirements
- Fresh Graduate
- BSc in Accounting or Finance
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures
- Experience with general ledger functions
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
